Te Kupenga O Te Ao / The Net Of The World
Hotu Matua the great Waitaha explorer & Grandmother of the nation.Had found Te Henua o Te Ao (The Navel of the World) (Easter I) & set up the nation of Waitaha with Kiwa. She now sort to find the the Waka of the Gods in the waters of the double sea. She followed the star Reehua nui Ahau (Sirius A)to the turbalent waters of New Zealand in her Waka Ngatokimatawhaorua. On this voyage she would open the ways for her grandson Maui Potiki on his journey to Aotearoa. Te Kupenga o te Ao (The Net of the World) a name Hotu Matua took on this journey and her others as she discoverd many islands & new lands connected together in a great net of the world.Many of her descendants also named lands and places in her name of Kupe, Te Ariki Kaihautuu
